Henderson officials said the suspect, Amos Martinez, is also homeless and lived in another encampment near where the victim was found. According to city officials, Martinez beat the man to death after a disagreement.

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police are on the scene of a serious crash.It happened around 3:37 p.m. on Saturday near East Carey Avenue and Sandy Lane. A silver pick-up truck is said to have rear ended a white sedan. There was a family of four inside the white sedan. They were all taken to the hospital. One of the passengers, a 4-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the hospital. A 2-year-old passenger is also in critical condition. The condition of the parents is unknown. The driver of the pick-up truck was arrested and taken to the Clark County Detention Center under suspicion of DUI. Several roads are closed in the area. Drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes. Action News will update this story once more information has been received.

Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- A 35-year-old homeless man was arrested Saturday in connection with the beating death of another homeless man found dead in a desert campsite.Amos Martinez is being held without bond in the Henderson Detention Center on murder and robbery charges. A 44-year-old man was found dead Thursday night at a homeless encampment in a desert area near Lake Mead Parkway and Warm Springs Road. Martinez is accused of getting into a disagreement with the man and then beating him to death. Martinez was living in the desert in another encampment near where the slain man was found. Martinez is also accused of taking the slain man’s flashlight after killing him. The name of the slain man will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office once he has been positively identified and his family has been notified. Anyone with information in this case is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.

Close to 3,000 people strapped on their walking shoes early Saturday morning to reclaim the future for the millions of people suffering from Alzheimer's. The Walk to end Alzheimer's event started at 7 a.m. at the Fashion Show Mall.It's to raise both money and awareness for the devastating disease and the event has a decade-long tradition here in the valley.The walk itself was a lap around the mall about 2 miles.Organizers were hoping to raise $151,000. Action News has not currently received a fundraising figure.The event was one of a series of events across the country today.
